What if banks do not accept applicants from my country?
If a bank turns down your application because of your country or address, you still have paths forward:
1. Finalize your LLC formation and operating agreement.
2. Prepare your business plan, website, and any invoices you have.
3. If you plan to apply through doola partner banking options, wait until your EIN is officially issued and you have the official EIN letter before you apply. doola's banking partners currently require the EIN letter for their applications, and applying before all required documentation is available may reduce your chances or create avoidable rejection risk.
4. Make sure you have an acceptable US physical address.
If your EIN is delayed, follow up on its status while you get everything else ready. Banking generally moves faster once your EIN is issued.
Fintech banks such as Mercury, Relay, or Slash may restrict applications based on your country or address, and doola can help you prepare your documentation but can't override a bank's own eligibility or compliance rules. If one provider turns you down, another may have different requirements of its own, which could include needing a US address or an ITIN.
Checking a bank's eligibility criteria before you form your company can help you pick an option that matches your situation from the start.
