How do I correct a mistake on my EIN letter?

EIN processing times can vary and may take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. If you need official proof of your EIN, banks and other institutions may ask for an IRS-issued letter such as a **CP575** or **147C**. While doola can provide fax confirmations related to EIN issuance and a PDF copy of the EIN document received, it cannot generate official IRS letters. If you need to request an EIN Verification Letter (Form 147C) for other reasons or to confirm your EIN: 1. Call the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line at **1-800-829-4933** (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. local time). Calling this number is the only way to request a 147C letter. 2. Verify your identity as the business owner. You will need your EIN, your SSN or ITIN, and details about your business such as legal name, address, and formation date. 3. Request a **147C Letter (Verification of EIN)** or **CP575 Letter**. The IRS can mail or fax this letter directly to your registered business address, usually within 5–10 business days. **Note:** - The **147C** is an official EIN confirmation letter issued by the IRS. While doola provides fax confirmations related to EIN issuance, it cannot generate official IRS letters like the 147C. - If you need the letter urgently (for example, for banking), explain this to the IRS; sometimes expedited guidance is provided over the phone. - Banks often require the official IRS-issued letter (**CP575** or **147C**) rather than the fax confirmation or PDF copy provided by doola. If you discover a mistake or typo on your EIN letter (such as a name or detail spelling error), do not call the IRS directly to fix it. Instead, have your case reviewed and coordinated with the EIN Team through support so they can assist you with the corrective process. If your bank won’t accept the EIN document you currently have, they may require an official IRS **147C** or **CP575** letter. Follow the steps above to request one directly from the IRS. If you have questions during this process or need help deciding what to say when calling the IRS, you can ask support, who can guide you in requesting the EIN Verification Letter (Form 147C). If your issue is not about an EIN letter mistake or obtaining the 147C, please provide a brief clarification so that support can assist appropriately.
