What tasks does a bookkeeper perform?
Your bookkeeper categorizes your business transactions, reconciles your bank and card accounts, generates your financial statements (like your Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet), and closes your books each period so you're ready for tax time. Occasionally your bookkeeper may need your input on how to categorize a specific transaction, but the goal is to keep the process as hands-off as possible for you.
