Does a Social Security number (SSN) expire?
A Social Security number (SSN) is a nine-digit number assigned by the Social Security Administration (SSA) to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and eligible nonimmigrant workers in the United States.
No. Once an SSN has been assigned, it is your unique number for the rest of your life. However, if for whatever reason the IRS does not accept your SSN, don't worry, the company'll still be able to fax a form in to the IRS to get your EIN!
