Understanding IRS Form 8821 for Tax Information Authorization and EIN Processing

Form 8821 is an IRS Tax Information Authorization form that authorizes doola to communicate with the IRS on your behalf regarding your EIN application and related tax matters. By signing Form 8821, you permit doola to request updates on your EIN status, receive limited tax account information tied to your specific case, and assist in resolving any delays in the EIN or tax process. However, signing this form does not authorize doola to make any business decisions for you, sign any documents on your behalf, or officially represent you before the IRS. If you have already signed Form SS-4 (which is the application form for obtaining an EIN) and then receive a request for Form 8821, understand that these forms serve different purposes. The Form SS-4 pertains strictly to applying for an EIN, whereas Form 8821 allows Doola to follow up with the IRS regarding ongoing tax or EIN processing matters and to access limited tax-account information related to your case. If Form 8821 or Form SS-4 is not visible in your My Documents, first check your email inbox and spam folder for the signature email. The form may appear in your dashboard only after you have signed the signature email link. If you cannot locate the signature email, you can ask doola support to resend it so you can complete the signing process and access the form in your documents.
