Should I file my annual report and tax return myself or use a paid package?

It depends on complexity and risk. DIY can be cheaper if you’re comfortable managing: annual reports, registered agent, bookkeeping, and tax filing (including foreign-owned forms like 5472 ). The package may be worth it if you value (1) fewer missed deadlines, (2) guided filing, (3) support for complex forms, and (4) time saved. Annual report (state): state ID/entity number, company address, registered agent info, member/manager names, and sometimes business purpose. Tax return (IRS): EIN, formation date, accounting records (income/expenses), bank statements, payment processor reports (Stripe/PayPal), payroll forms (if any), owner info, and any 1099s. Foreign-owned LLCs may need related-party transaction details for Form 5472 . Having clean bookkeeping makes filing much easier.
